Born in Lockport, NY, Nathan started his interest in film when he started working on "The Allied Fleets" public access sci-fi show in high school with creator Keith Hazelet. He graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2005 (Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering) and 2006 (MBA).
Nathan started cosplaying in 2006 when he saw Tsubasa Chronicles for the first time and felt a connection with the character of Syaoran. He wore his Tsubasa Syaoran cosplay to his first anime convention, Fan Expo 2006 in Toronto, Ontario.
Nathan then started building his collection of cosplays and has been cosplaying ever since. He came up with the idea to create a cosplayer centered movie when he attended Sakuracon 2007, and started writing down scenes after that.
Nathan has acted in cosplay since Anime North 2008 where he entered the skit competition. He won best solo performance and has gone on to win another best solo performance and a best overall performance award at other events.
